Injured man returned onto ferry after medevac in Patmos due to the lack of a doctor
On the early morning of July 2, the Port Authority of Patmos was informed about the injury of a 72-year-old passenger of the 'Blue Star 2'. The man slipped and fell from the ship's stairs, resulting in his facial injury. The injured man disembarked from the ship at the port of Patmos, where an ambulance had arrived, but due to the lack of a doctor at the Patmos Health Center, he reboarded the ship and continued his journey to the port of Piraeus, under the supervision of a doctor who was on board. A preliminary investigation was being conducted by the Patmos Port Authority.
Emergency approach in Kalymnos after drowning incident
On the evening of June 24, 2025, the Port Authority of Kalymnos was informed by the captain of the 'Blue STar 2', which was operating a scheduled route from the port of Kos to the port of Leros, about the ship's emergency approach to the port of Kalymnos, in order to transport a 73-year-old passenger to the General Hospital of Kalymnos, due to a possible drowning incident. Upon the ship's arrival at the port of Kalymnos, the victim was transported by an ambulance to the General Hospital of Kalymnos, where she was pronounced dead. The Kalymnos Port Authority, which was conducting the preliminary investigation, ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Forensic Medical Service of the Dodecanese.
Crew member injured during loading operation
On the afternoon of Feb 8, 2025, the Port Authority of Tzelepi was informed of the injury of a crew memberof the Blue Star 2' at the left foot during the loading of a tractor driven by a local. The man was transported by an ambulance of the Piraeus Port Authority to the Piraeus General Hospital for examinations and further medical care. The 1st Port Department of Tzelepi of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus was conducting the preliminary investigation and arrested the tractor driver for violation of article 314 of the Criminal Code. (Injury due to negligence).
