Medevac off Beypore
The Beypore Coast Guard on Apr 13, 2013, received a distress call from the "Caribbean Galaxy" which was seeking medical attention for a senior officer who suffered cardiac arrest around 6 p.m. The second engineer, aged 36, was to be brought ashore for critical medical care. The vessel, en route from Chennai to Mumbai, was 18 nautical miles off the Beypore coast. The Coast Guard sent a medical team which administered first aid aboard the ship and took off the patient for treatment at a local hospital. The tanker on Apr 15 berthed in Mumbai.
