Bjugnholm

On Jan 26, 2026, at around 2 p.m. the 'Bjugnholm', with four people on board, started taking in water at Tjeldbergodden in Aure, in pos. 63° 19' N 009° 09' E. The ship had arrived in port enroute from Florø and was next bound to Holla Kyrkseter. The accident allegedly happened during cargo operations. The ship was fully loaded with rocks and gravel and had berthed at the industrial plant in Tjeldbergordden. The Norwegian Coast Guard and the lifeboat 'Horn Flyer' of the NSSR assisted with pumping out water. The crew of the "Horn Flyer", whlle draining the water, also was trying to locate the leak. One theory was that a hole hadbeen punched in the hull during unloading operations. The plan was to unload the cargo. Another theory was that some valves could have failed in connection with the draining of a ballast water tank, which resulted in the ship listing. There has been no damage or pollution in connection with the incident, and the vessel was not in danger of sinking. Plans were made to unload the remaining cargo to stabilize it again. The ship sailed from Tjeldbergordden on Feb 1 and berthed in Kristiansund on Feb 3. On March 20, 2019, short past midnight the "Bulk Trans" suffered water ingress and an engine failure off the Edøy ferry quay in Smøla. The pilot boat "Los 133" hooked up a towing line and kept the ship from running aground. In addition, the lifeboat "Erik Bye", a Seaking helicopter from Ørlandet and the tug "Waterman" (MMSI: 259587000) proceeded and assisted with dewatering pumps. The patrol boat "Nornen" of the Norwegian Coastguard diverted to the position. The water ingress could be brought under control at 2.30 a.m. At 4.10 a.m. the "Waterman" started towing the "Bulk Trans" with five people on board in northern direction to Kvernhusvika with the "Njord" escorting the convoy, which was heading to Frihetsholmen for damage inspections. On July 4, 2015, at 6.38 a.m. the "Bjugnholm", coming from Roervik, ran aground on an unmarked reef at Skeishavna in Leka, north of Madsøya, with a crew of six on board. The Crew of the lifeboat "Harald V" decided to wait for higher water Levels. In fact the ship refloated at 11.42 a.m. and headed to the quay with own power where the hull was surveyed by divers. The ship had to be unloaded at Leka before a repair.
