Biostar towed to Haugesund
On Nov 22, 2016, the "Biostar" suffered engine trouble and was disabled upon approaching Karmsundet. The lifeboat "Bergen Kreds" of the NSSR station Haugesund was called to assist and towed the ship into the port of Haugesund around 10 a.m. The ship was able to sail again after troubleshooting at 7.30 p.m. and headed to fish farms off the coast.
Grounding at Vibrandsøy
The "Biostar" ran aground on the west side of Vibrandsøy in the night of July 20, 2012. The lifeboat "Bergen Kreds" was notifired of the grounding at 3 a.m. The supply vessel "Rem Gambler" also was on scene, and the lifeboat assisted in towing. The "Biostar" was towed to the Garpeskjærs Quay. The ship had suffered damage to both the bow and stern. A diver discovered damage at rudder and propeller.
