Tthe 'Bina Marine 81' was boarded by seven pirates, all residents of Batam Desmanto, in the waters of Batu Ampar, Batam, who were arrested by the Ditpolairud of the Riau Islands Police on Nov 5, 2022, based on cooperation and the exchange of information between the Ditpolairud Polda Riau Islands and the Singapore Police. Also scrap metal weighing 1.8 tons was secured and in the process of being investigated. The pirates had climbed the ship at night.
