Medevac off Arrecife

The 'BF Esperanza', enroute from Banjul to Algeciras, requested the urgent medical evacuation of a crew member with health issues, while the ship wasd sailing approximately 30 nautical miles from Arrecife. The operation was coordinated by the CCS of Salvamento Marítimo in Las Palmas, following an assessment by the Radiomedical Center, which confirmed the need for immediate evacuation. The SAR helicopter Helimer 205 was deployed o the container ship and safely hoisted the patient, who was then transferred to the César Manrique Airport of Lanzarote, where he was attended to by the Emergency Coordination Center of the Canary Islands and taken to hospital by an ambulance.
