Engine trouble off Heraklion
The Port Authorities of Heraklion and Rethymno were informed in the evening of Feb 9, 2021, that the 'Mastronosta' had suffered a mechanical damage north of Heraklion, prefecture of Crete, with eight crew members on board. The patrol boat 'Minotavros' was deployed to provide assistance, while the crew repaired the damage by its own means and reached the port of Rethymno in the morning of Feb 10, escorted by the patrol boat. The Port Authority of Rethymno initially banned the ship from sailing until the presentation of a certificate of repair before resuming the voyage to Altsi.
