Bering

The "Bering" was detained for the second time within less than one month on Nov 6 in Gothenburg,. The MOU inspectors found 14 deficiencies, four of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Structural conditions - Electrical installations in general Not as required 2) Emergency systems - Emergency source of power - emergency generator Inoperative 3) Other - Other safety in general Other 4) ISM' - Ism certificate Not as required The vessel was released again on Nov 16 and left the port enroute to Lidköping with an ETA as of Nov 18, The last detention was only on Oct 10 in Gemlik with 13 deficiencies for three days. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063576908591

The inspections included checks across areas such as the accommodation and galley, engine room, and navigation bridge, and operational controls like communication equipment and emergency fire pumps were assessed. The serious defiencies were: 1) Certificate & Doc - Cargo Ship Safety Equipment Survey out of window 2) Emergency systems' - Fire drills Lack of training 3) Fire safety - Fire doors/openings in fire resisting division Unsafe 4) ISM - Ism certificate Not as required The vessel was released again on Oct 12 following the rectification of issues identified, and proceeded to Varna, where it arrived on Oct 13.

The "Luhnau" was towed to Volos with an engine problem about Feb 8, 2018. The vessel seit sail again on Feb 13 after all repairs have been completed successfully.

Enroute from Dagenham, UK, to Rostock, the "Luhnau" suffered an engine blackout during the transit of the Kiel Canal just after having passed the locks in Brunsbüttel on May 24, 2016, around noon. The ship was moored with assistance of the tug "Luchs (IMO: 8912211) at the dolphins of the sailing ship port in Brunsbüttel/Ostermoor for surveys and class renewal. She resumed the eastbound voyage around 3.30 p.m., with an ETA as of May 25, 6 a.m.

The "Luhnau" suffered steering failure on Nov 15, 2014, in the Bay of Biscay about 200 nm off Brest, and requested assistance. The vessel was en route from Eastham to Leixoes with a cargo of scrap. The emergency tug "Abeille Bourbon" was dispatched to assist and took the ship in tow. After a tow of nine hours on Nov 17 the convoy reached Brest, and the casualty was moored with local tugs of Boluda after having spend a night at anchor off the port. Technicians were called from Germany to rectify the damage. On Nov 21 around 7 p.m. the ship resumed its voyage with an ETA of Nov 24.
