Medevac off Nha Trang
In the night of Dec 6, the Filipino crew member Jamandron Mafred Tagle of the 'Berge Daisen' was medevaced by the Vietnamese SAR vessel 'SAR 272'. He was hospitalized in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province. The bulk carrier was en route from Yokohama to Singapore, when 123 nautical miles southeast of Nha Trang city the right hand of the man was crushed in an accident. The captain requested assistance from the Vietnamese authorities. The MRCC kept in regular contact with the ship to update the patient's condition and guide first aid measures. The medical team aboard the 'SAR 272' urgently provided first aid to the patient, took measures to prevent COVID-19, and then disembarked him.
