LPG tanker crew rescued injured yacht skipper
The crew of the 'Berga II' successfully rescued a French citizen whose boat broke down in the open sea off the coast of Fiumicino on July 14, 2025. after the crew received a distress call from the French-flagged vessel. The tanker was in a waiting position near the port of Fiumicino, preparing to unload its cargo of liquefied petroleum gas, and quickly responded. The skipper was brought aboard the tanker and received first aid and medical treatment after sustaining injuries due to a storm. The 'Berga II' also took the damaged boat in tow, informed the Italian Coast Guard of the rescue operation and coordinated with them the evacuation of the skipper.
