Russian cargo ship blacklisted for violating sanctions against North Korea
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley accused Russia on Sep 17 of “cheating” on U.N. sanctions on North Korea and said Washington has “evidence of consistent and wide-ranging Russian violations.” Haley said Washington has tracked some 148 cases this year of oil tankers delivering fuel to North Korea obtained through ship-to-ship transfers at sea in breach of a U.N. cap. The cargo m/v "Ryonyong" was in allision with the berthed "Bogatyr" while unmooring from berth 44 in Vladivostok in the morning of Jan 1, 2018. The russian freighter sustained portside stern damages, mostly dents and scratches. The "Ryongyong" was docked again at the Femsta General Cargo terminal.
