Tanker damaged moorings in oil field
On April 4, 2023, the Valeura Energy addressed a damage to moorings serving the Wassana oilfield redevelopment in the Gulf of Thailand, which were damaged by the 'Jaka Tarub' on March 26. The tanker had allided with the catenary anchor leg mooring (CALM) buoy, damaging offloading components. No one wa injured, and as the production had not yet started, there was no discharge of fluids. Valeura was collaborating with Thailand's upstream regulator, the Department of Mineral Fuels, on a safe restart of production operations. The 'Jaka Tarub' berthed in Laem Chabang on April 5.
