On the afternoon of March 24, 2026, the Vietnamese MRCC coordinated with the Vietnamese Coastal Information Station for the medevac of a Filipino crew member, aged 57 years, who had suffered skin injuries on the right side of his head, severe pain, and significant visual impairment in his right eye on March 23, from the 'Navig8 Wolf', en route from South Korea to Singapore, about 280 nautical miles from Ho Chi Minh City. The captain urgently requested assistance to bring the patient ashore for treatment. The ship was instructed to divert towards the coast to facilitate rescue operations. Under the direction of the authorities, the rescue vessel 'SAR 413', along with a medical team from Vung Tau General Hospital, departed from the Phuoc Thang district of Ho Chi Minh City at 12.30 p.m. Once on scene, the crew member was transferred onto the rescue vessel, where first aid was administered, and the vicim transported ashore at 4.30 p.m., to be handed over to the relevant authorities and representatives of the shipowner for further treatment at a medical facility.
