Incident during charging of ferry
When the 'Sandøy', the electric ferry, which is operating between Brevik and Sandøya, was to be disconnected from the charger on Feb 6, 2026, after the loading process was completed and the ship ready for operation, there was a loud bang. An employee, who removed the cable, was injured by electrocuting and had to be taken to the doctor for a medical check-up, but was back on work on Feb 11. It was not yet known exactly what happened. The 'Sandøy' was taken out of service and was to be repaired in March. The passenger boat 'Løvøy' was serving as a reserve in the meantime.
