11 crew members evacuated from grounded ship
On Jan 23, 2026 at approximately 6:30 a.m. the 'Thanh Thanh Dat 45' with 11 crew members aboard ran aground in the Cua Viet port area in the Quang Tri Province, en route from Yangpu port to Cua Viet port for cargo handling. The ship got stuck about 700 meters from the shore and about 550 meters north of the Cua Viet embankment. All of the crew were brought ashore safely. The authorities were monitoring the situation and expected to tow the ship to port for repairs when weather conditions got more favourable.
