Breidtind

Emergency services responded to the 'Breidtind', which was berthed at the Tromsø terminal at Skattøra with 22 crew members on board, after a report of a gas leak, probably ammonia, from the engine room on Nov 19, 2025, at 08.09 a.m. The fire department established a safety zone around the boat and several people were evacuated. At 08.25, it was reported that the fire department has stopped the leak. The safety zone around the trawler has been removed and there was no longer considered to be a risk of exposure. At 8.35 a.m., the police reported that the vessel was being ventilated and would launch an investigation as soon as conditions permitted in order to find the cause of the leak.
