Panagia-Evagelistria

On the morning of Oct 3, 2025, the Port Authority of Kardamena Kos was informed that the 'Panagia Evangelistria' had run aground on a sandy shoal during its entry into the port. The result of the grounding was the slight distortion of the starboard side propeller of the ferry, which was operating a scheduled route from Nisyros to Tilos and Kardamena. The Kardamena Port Station initially banned the ship from sailing. After the presentation of a seaworthiness certificate from the monitoring classification society, it was permitted to depart for a single voyage to the port of Perama, empty of cargo and passengers, for repairs.

On the morning of June 24, 2025, the Port Authority of Kardamena was informed by the Captain of the 'Panagia Evangelistria', that the ship had suffered a malfunction of the starboard side main engine, upon its arrival at the port of Kardamena, with 15 passengers, four cars and 2 two-wheeled vehicles on board. The ferry was sailing from Nisyros to Tilos and Kardamena Kos. The departure of the ship from the Kardamena Port Station was prohibited until the damage was repaired and a seaworthiness certificate was presented by the monitoring classification society.
