Tanker still being repaired one year after fire

One year after the fire in the Baltic Sea on Oct 11, 2024, the "Annika" was is still being repaired by the Strela Shiprepair shipyard in Stralsund, to which the tanker had been towed at the beginning of the year. The ship has since left the shipyard and was now moored at the pier for final works. The major repairs have been completed, and the interior work was now underway. In particular, the damage to the control systems was more extensive than expected. The completion of repairs was being expected in the coming weeks. The company's expertise and the maritime industry's trust in the location were decisive for the award of the contract. The Federal Bureau of Maritime Accident Investigation (BSU) classified the fire on the "Annika" as a "serious maritime accident".
