Busses turned over when wave struck ferry
The "Permata Nusantara" was hit by a big wave in the waters of Bone Bay, on Jan 22, 2019, around 3:30 a.m. The four buses that were carried on board were overturned. The ferry departed from the Port of Kolaka in Southeast Sulawesi bound to Bajoe Port, South Sulawesi at 12:30 a.m. and was struck by waves of four meters height and wind speeds of 30 knots. The captain decided to return to the old Kolaka Ferry Port where the passengers who were panicking during the bumpy ride and had donned on life jackets and vehicles were safely disembarked.
