Medevac off Aguadilla
The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) jumped into action to rescue a sick passenger on the 'Star of the Seas'. An emergency medical situation aros on March 9, 2026 while the ship was sailing 200 nautical miles northwest of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. It had departed Port Canaveral on March 8 and had called at Perfect Day at CocoCay the following day. After leaving the private island at approximately 4 p.m., the 'Star of the Seas' was heading for St. Thomas as the next stop on the 7-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary, when a 64-year-old male British passenger experienced a medical emergency,, requiring a medevac from the ship. A US Coast Guard MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter from the Air Station Borinquen on the northeast coast of Puerto Rico was able to respond. The crew airlifted not only the guest, but also his next-of-kin and a nurse of the 'Star of the Seas' for transportation to the Centro Medico Hospital for further treatment. Glas panel shattered on brand new cruise ship
A glass panel shattered on one of the ship’s upper decks of the 'Stars of the Seas' three days after setting sail. Crew members placed caution tape in front of the broken panel. The panel was replaced with another piece of glass. The ship, which officially debuted on Aug16, set sail from Port Canaveral.
