The “Shikhan” on June 11, 2010, at 11.30 p.m., while entering Verkhne-Svirskiy Lock on the river Svir, struck its upper gate. The gate was deformed and the vessel damaged in the foresihp region. It suffered a dent above the waterline of 0.5x0.5 meters. On June 12 at 8 a.m. the vessel berthed near the lock, waiting for the class inspection and investigation. The shipowner was to decide where to repair damage. As reported, the lock’s dispatcher was responsible for the allision.
