Tanker seized for smuggling oil
The "Levante" was seized by the Libyan Coast Guard around Aug 28, 2017, off Zawia, Libya, with about 6,000 tons of oil on board, allegedly smuggled from Libya. The 20 crew members, most of them Filipinos, were interrogated. The last vessel’s AIS dated Aug 27, there was a 4-days long gap of missing AIS signals, from Aug 23 until Aug 27. The tanker was taken to Zawia or Tripoli for investigations.
