Enroute from Mustola, Lappeenranta, to Hönsäter, Sweden, the ‘STK 1008’ had a bottom touch on the Lake Nuijamaanjärvi in Lappeenranta on July 9, 2020, at 3.55 p.m. in the Saimaa Canal from Finland to Russia. The ship had a Finnish pilot on board as required. After the emergency center was notified, a large number of units of the South Karelia Rescue Department left for the destination, but the vessel managed to refloat without assistance and continued the voyage towards the Pälli lock about an hour after the alarm. No injuries or oil spills were reported.
