Grounding on Volga Caspian Sea Channel
On Feb 26, 2022, at 4.15 a.m. the 'Volgo Balt 239' ran aground at kilometer mark 51 on the Volga Caspian Sea Channel, en route from Astrakhan to Anzali. The ship got stuck in pos. 45 51 18 N, 47 39 00 E on a one-way traffic leg of the channel, so that traffic was blocked. Later the day she was refloated with tug assistance, and was to be towed back to Astrakhan, no leaks reported.
Mooring accident off Astrakhan
On March 30, 2017, at 9.35 p.m. the cargo m/v "Rasha 1" which was moored on Anchorage 5 in Astrakhan port on the Volga river, dragged anchor and drifted onto the anchored "Volgo Balt 239". Both vessels suffered slight damages at the railings and dents. They had to remain on the anchorage until the formal investigation was completed.
