Passenger died after medevac in Piraeus
On the afternoon of Jan 19, 2026, the Tzelepi Port Authority was informed by the captain of the 'Aero 3', that a 72-year-old Greek passenger required immediate hospital treatment. The ship, which was on a scheduled route from Piraeus to the ports of Aegina and Agistri, returned to the port of Piraeus. Subsequently, the patient was picked up by an ambulance and transported to the Piraeus General Hospital, where he died. The Tzelepi Port Department 1 of the Piraeus Central Port Authority, which was conducting the preliminary investigation, ordered an autopsy.
Obstruction caused engine failure
On the morningof Dec 10, 2025, the Port Authority of Poros was informed by the captain of the 'Aero 3 Highspeed', that during the execution of a scheduled route from Porto Heli on the route Spetses-Ermioni-Hydra-Poros-Piraeus with 29 passengers and nine crew members on board, had suffered a mechanical failure of the starboard side main engine after an object got stuck in the propulsion. The ship managed to sail into the port of Poros, where the local Port Authority initially prohibited the departure of the ferry. After the repair of the damage and the presentation of a certificate of class maintenance from the monitoring classification society, it was allowed to resume its sailing.
Highspeed ferry suffered engine failure
On the afternoon of Nov 11, 2025, the Port Authority of Aegina was informed by the Captain of the 'Aero 3' about a failure of the port side main engine, while the high speed catamaran was enroute to the port of Agistri, operating a route from the port of Piraeus to Aegina and Agistri and return. The ferry sailed unassisted to the port of Agistri, where it safely disembarked its passengers. The Port Authority of Aegina banned the ship from sailing until the presentation of a seaworthiness certificate from the monitoring classification society. It was then permitteda single voyage to the port of Piraeus without passengers for permanent repairs. The 21 passengers waiting at the port of Agistri bound for Aegina and the 123 passengers waiting at the port of Aegina bound for Piraeus were forwarded to their destinations with the care of the ship-owning company.
