Grounded ship lightered
The "Omskiy 143" remained stuck on the River Volga, near Ostrov Kazachiy, since May 15. Following an unsuccessful attempt to refloat the vessel on May 17, the master decided to unload more cargo in order to facilitate the next refloating attempt. After its salvage, the ship sailed from Astrakhan on June 16, bound for Baku, ETA June 19.
Grounding on the Volga
The "Omskiy 143" ran aground on the Volga within the precincts of Saratov on its way from Saratov to Astrakhan on May 15, 2019, at 10 a.m. with a cargo of corn and a crew of 14 people on board. The crew was awaiting the arrival of a tug to refloat the apparently undamaged vessel so it may continue its journey.
