Robbers boarded vessel off Nigeria
Three robbers in a small craft approached and boarded the anchored "Ocean Gladiato" at the Apapa-Lagos anchorage in position 006 20 17.4 N, 003 20 30.0E, on April 25, 2019, at 02.15 a.m. The duty Able Seaman on routine rounds noticed the robbers near the cargo tank and notified the Officer of the Watch. The alarm was raised, a PA announcement was made, and the crew mustered. Hearing the alarm and seeing the crew's alertness, the robbers jumped overboard along with their hose and escaped in their boat. The incident was reported to a Nigerian naval patrol vessel. Nothing was reported stolen.
