Grounding off Hoping
The "Yue Dian 85" ran aground on underwater tetrapods while entering the Hoping power plant basin at the Eastern coast of Taiwan on June 8, 2019, at 11.50 a.m. upon its arrival from Son Duong with a cargo of 78.000 tons coal. No pollution nor injuries have been reported. On June 12 the bulk carrier was still aground in pos. 24° 16.67' N 121° 45.39' E. After removing some of the coal cargo the ship was refloated and berthed in Hoping port at on June 14 at 3 p.m. It departed the port again on June 18, bound for Zhoushan, China, for repairs, ETA June 19.
