Turned back from Newcastle with engine malfunction
Chinese bulk carrier Yue Dian 81 was rejected entering Newcastle harbour on Jan 22 13 because of engine malfunction, and had to proceed to the sea. Vessel was already approaching harbour with pilot on board, when malfunction occurred. ‘‘The Newcastle Port Corporation marine pilot followed standard operating procedures and turned the vessel around to sea to ensure the safety of all involved,’’ a Port Corporation spokesman said.
