Repairs in Tuzla completed
Repairs of the 'Ozgun' have been completed at the Tuzla Shipyard on Nov 30. The vessel was shifted from shipyard to Tuzla anchorage in order to carry out sea trials and performance tests. Upon completion of the final inspection, a new set of trading certificate was issued by classification society and flag state authority. The ship left Tuzla anchorage at noon and headed to Kherson as first port of call after repairs.
Repairs in Tuzla underway
The repairs of the main engine damage of the 'Ozgun' have been appointed to shore based technical teams in regard to the manufacturer repair guidance and reference booklet. A new set of spare parts was provided by the owners from original spare parts supplying company. On Oct 8 the 'Ozgun' remained stationary in the shipyard at Tuzla.
Engine failure in Torre Annunziata
The 'Ozgun' suffered engine failure at Torre Annunziata on Aug 22, 2019. As repairs could not be carried out by the crew, the tug 'Leopard' has been appointed to tow the vessel to Tuzla. Upon completion of towage approval formalities, the towage operation commenced on Aug 29. During the Canakkale Strait passage, coastal safety tugs provided escort service for the vessel and the Strait traffic safety. ETA at the Tuzla shipyard area was on Sep 5.
