The "Volodymyr Vorobyov" was detained in Tekirdag on May 8, 2025: Detained in Tekirdag with 47 deficiencies, seven of which being regarded a seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Fire safety - Fixed fire exthinguishing installation Missing 2) Fire safety - Fire detection and alarm system' Not properly maintained 3) Fire safety - Remote Means of control (Machinery spaces) Inoperative 4) Life saving Appliances - Launching arrangements for survival craft Not properly maintained 5) Life saving Appliances - Emergency equipment for 2-way communications Batteries expires 6) Structural conditions - Steering gear Not properly maintained 7) Alarm - General alarm Inoperative. Damage repairs underway

After the 'Sormovskiy 43' had berthed at the shipyard at Yalova on Dec 27, 2019, a dtailed damage survey was carried out by the class surveyor together with owners' superintendent. Shipyard technical teams have commenced the repairs, as per class surveyor's recommendations. A new set of spare parts were ordered by the owners from the manufacturer. The vessel was renamed 'Volodymyr Vorobyov' in Yalova. The repair works were delayed due to the financial difficulties of the owners. The entire repairs were expected to complete by mid-May. Sea trials will be carried out upon completion of further repair works.

Disabled freighter towed to Yalova

The 'Sormovskiy 43' which had been berthed in Bourgas since Aug 2016 following an engine failure, was towed to Yalova for repairs. The tug 'Balaban' has been appointed for this task. The towing operation commenced on Dec 20, 2019, upon completion of towage approval formalities. The convoy arrived at Yalova on Dec 26 at 2 p.m.
