Collision off Yeisk
The Russian cargo m/v "Volzhskiy 47" (IMO: 8933564), was in collision with the "Volga 4051" on May 2, 2017, at 01.55 a.m. in the Taganrog Bay seven cables off the entrance buoy of Yeysk entrance fairway in the Azov Sea. The "Volga 4051" was maneuvering to approach the port, carrying 5,400 tons of coal from Istanbul, when she struck the outbound "Volzhskiy 47", which was headed from Yeisk to Trabzon, amidships at port side. Thee "Volga 4051" suffered bow damage 1,5 meters above the waterline, the "Volzhskiy 47 a fracture of the main deck of 3-4 meters length. 12 meters of railings suffered damage as well as the cargo hold No.3 cover. By May 5 both ships remained anchored off the port.
