A crew member opf the 'Ville de Bordeaux' suffered a heart attack and needed to be medevaced off the tip of Penmarc’h (Finistère) in the morning of Aug 1, 2021. The ship was underway from Mobile to Montoir de Bretagne carrying Airbus parts. The CROSS Etel was notified of the emergency and deployed a Cayman helicopter of the French Navy. As the ship was 220 nautical miles iff the coast, a Falcon 50 aircraft took off from the base in Lanveoc to ensure communication between the helicopter and the ship and guided the latter to a defined point to allow the patient to be picked up.
