Allision with oil rig
On April 12, 2021, the 'Constructor Zhivotovsky' allided with a Lukoil oil rig in the Caspian Sea in pos. 40°16′N 49°44′E. The tanker had left the port of Astrakhan headed to Baku with 4.500 tons gas oil on board, and crashed into the remains of an oil platform, which belongs to the national Azerbaijani oil corporation in poor visibility. The tanker did not suffer serious damage and continued to Baku where it arrived on May 13, waiting for a damage survey. No casualties, no oil spill were reported. The rig, however, suffered significant damage. Parts of it had landed on the tanker's foreship.
