SCF Group’s NS Yakutia completes her NSR voyage

On October 6, 2013, Sovcomflot’s dry cargo carrier NS Yakutia completed her voyage along the Northern Sea Route. It was the sixth voyage of the Group’s vessels under the programme on developing high-latitude routes from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, Sovcomflot press center says. NS Yakutia loaded with 67,000 tonnes of iron ore concentrate of Eurochem Trading is on her way from port Murmansk to port Lanshan (China). 2,294 miles from Cape Zhelaniya (Novaya Zemlya archipelago) in the Kara Sea to Cape Dezhnev in the Bering Strait were covered in 14 days. Average speed of NS Yakutia at NSR was 9 knots. So it saved over 18 days as compared with the conventional route via the Suez Canal, the statement says.

Dry bulk carrier NS Yakutia sets off for Northern Sea Route to Lanshan

On September 21, Sovcomflot’s dry cargo carrier NS Yakutia set off from Murmansk to deliver 67,000 tonnes of iron ore concentrate to port Lanshan (China). According to Sovcomflot press center, the NS is expected to arrive in the port of Discharge on October 12. The voyage is estimated to last for 40 days including 8 days along the Northern Sea Route. The vessel was chartered by Eurochem Trading. According to the vessel’s captain, the ice conditions are statistically average for the Arctic navigation. The vessel will sail along the Northern Sea Route in a convoy escorted by Yamal and Taimyr, nuclear icebreakers of FSUE Atomflot.

Hyundai Mipo delivers New bulk carrier NS Yakutia to Novoship fleet

On 21 January 2013, Novoship (SCF Group) launched NS Yakutia – a Panamax ice class 1B bulk carrier, Novoship press center informs. The new vessel (DWT 74,000 tonnes) was built at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea under the supervision of two classification societies: the Russian Maritime register of Shipping and the American Bureau of Shipping. NS Yakutia is the second bulk carrier ordered by SCF Group in summer 2010.
