The Armed Forces of Malta medevaced a Lithuanian national in the night of Aug 14, 2012, after the AFM was alerted that a crew member on board the "Veerseborg" which was enroute Menzel Bourguiba - Mariupol was suffering from severe chest pain and required medical attention. The vessel was about 20 nautical miles from the Grand Harbour. The 53-year-old Lithuanian was transferred to the Hay Wharf base on board the AFM vessel and was taken to Mater Dei hospital by ambulance for further medical treatment.
