Tug disabled during salvage operation
In the evening of Dec 6, 2013, the "Ginger" was sent from Ijmuiden to the disabled Turkish cargo m/v "Burak Bayraktar", (IMO:9260536) off the Dutch coast, and established a towing connection. Alas, the tug got the wire into its propeller short time later causing it to break. The tug had to return to Den Helder for repairs and docked at the Naval Harbour Willemsoord on Dec 7 at 1.50 a.m. On Dec 7 at 10.15 a.m. the Finnish tug "Zeus" (IMO: 9130729), reached the cargo ship and reported that the anchors were keeping it on position. It managed to establish a towing connection and started to pull the vessel towards deeper water.
