Bulk carrier assisting in rescue of distressed migrants
On June 22, 2021, around midday the Sasemar 103 aircraft of Salvamento Marítimo has located two inflatable boats with 50 immigrants on board each one, heading to Fuerteventura, about 58 and 75 kilometers south of Morro Jable, after the Civil Guard had received notice of the departure of the b0ats from the coast of El Aaiún in the Sahara. The first boat was sighted about 58 kilometers from Morro Jable. The second was a little further south, about 75 kilometers away from the Jandía peninsula. Next to it, the 'Nordanhav', en route from Banjun to Malaga, has been located and was asked to assist. Salvamento Marítimo also mobilized the SAR boat 'Guardamar Concepción Arenal' from Puerto del Rosario
