Collision in the Kiel Canal
Enroute from Rotterdam to Kalundborg the "Barbarica" was in collision with the fishing trawler "Destiny" in the Kiel Canal near Schülp. The chemical tanker had entered the canal in Brunsbüttel short past midnight and was able to continue its voyage eastbound after the trawler ran into its stern. It berthed in the East Shore Port of Kiel around 1 p.m. for investigations by the water police of Kiel. At 6 p.m. it left the port again and headed for Denmark.
