Tanker boarded by robber
The "Chemtrans Oceanic", berthed in position 004 04 36S, 39 39 48E, at Mbaraki Wharf, Mombasa, was boarded by a perpetrator on July 26, 2019, at 9.30 p.m. The duty Able Seaman conducting routine rounds on board the vessel noticed a robber climbing the mooring rope. The alarm was subsequently sounded, the crew mustered, and port control was informed. Before a Kenyan patrol boat could respond, the robber had cut and stolen two mooring ropes, fled the vessel and escaped.
