Superexpress

On the afternoon of May 26, 2025, the Port Authority of Mykonos was informed that the 'Superexpress' allided with the quay and a moored tug, during the mooring operations in the port of Mykonos. The impact resulted in damage to the stern of the tugas well as to the bow of the ferry, which was was operating a scheduled route from the port of Rafina to Tinos-Mykonos-Paros-Ios-Thira and return and had 158 passengers, 11 cars, one motorcycle and 29 crew members on board. The Mykonos Port Authority banned the ship from sailing until a seaworthiness certificate was presented by the monitoring classification society. It was then granted permission to carry out a single voyage without cargo and passengers, to the shipyard area of Perama, where it berthed on May 27. The passengers destined for Tinos and Rafina were forwarded by the care of the owner company. The Mykonos Port Authority, which conducted the preliminary investigation, arrested the Captain for violation of article 291 par. 3 of the Criminal Code. "Dangerous interference with fixed-track transport, ships and aircraft". The incident caused no injuries, and no marine pollution was observed.

On the afternoon of Aug 13, 2024, the Port Authority of Tinos was informed by the Master of the 'Superexpress', which was running a scheduled route from the port of Tinos to the port of Rafina, that it was deemed unsafe to continue sailing and returned to the port of Tinos. After the ship's departure, there was a fight between 14 passengers in the ship's salon. Upon the return of the ferry to the port of Tinos, officers of the Port Authority with the assistance of officers of the Police Department of Tinos proceeded to the arrest of the passengers for violation of article 292 of the Civil Code. (Obstruction of traffic). In further investigations, two guns (replicas) were found in luggage, which were confiscated. At the request of the ship-owning company, two officers of the Port Authority of Tinos boarded the ship to continue its route to the port of Rafina, where it arrived safely. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the Port Authority of Tinos.

The Mykonos Port Authority was informed in the morning of Sep 12, 2023, by the master of the 'Super ExpressÄ that during the departure for the scheduled route to the ports of Paros, Ios and Thira with 719 passengers on board, a malfunction was found, possibly from suction of a floating object into the starboard suction of the ship's propulsion systems. The ship returned independently and safely to the port of Mykonos, where it was initially banned from sailing. After the presentation of a certificate of seaworthiness by the monitoring classification society, the ship sailed to complete its route.
