Sunset-X

A 58-year-old Rotterdam resident was injured on Nov 9, 2025, at 3 a.m. when he fell from an unknown height onto the 'Sunset X' at the Damen Shiprepair shipyard in Botlek in the Rotterdam port area. The victim was injured but responsive. Emergency services were alerted, and an air ambulance was dispatched to the scene. It landed at a fixed landing site near the AVR waste incinerator and remained there for two hours. The mann was taken to the hospital. The case is being investigated by the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate. On April 10,2025, the '"Sunset X"' was detained in Lisbon with seven deficiencies, four of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Pollution Prevention - Performance standard not met Missing 2) Pollution Prevention - Ballast Water Management Plan Not approved 3) Certificate & Doc - Ballast Water Management Certificate Not as required 4) ISM - Ism certificate Not as required The vessel was released again on April 15 and left the port en route to Algeciras: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063576908591

On April 22 at 7.50 a.m. the 'Samskip Skalafell' entered the port of Dublin with a significant damage to the bulwarks at the starboard side above the waterline. The ship was, however, seaworthy and left port again the same day at 5.20 p.m. and headed to Cork where it arrived on Aoril 23 at 6 p.m. before travelling to Southampton on April 25 and to Rotterdam on April 26 with an ETA as of April 27.
