Straits-Sky

On Feb 13, 2019, at 2.50 p.m. the "Straits Sky" spilled oil near Berisso which was caused by an overflow during the transfer maneuver on the ship which was anchored in the Río de La Plata since Feb 12. In the affected area, an inspection was carried out and water samples were taken by the Prefectura Naval Argentina. The size of the spill was about 400x40 meters. The ship was detained until the deficiency were rectified under the custody of the Coastguard Bahía Blanca. The Directorate of Quality Control and Preservation of Water Resources tried to determine the degree of damage in the area between Playa Bagliardi and La Balandra near Buenos Aires.
