Attack in Gulf of Guinea

The "STI Hammersmith" was attacked in the Gulf of Guinea at Conakry on Sep 17, 2018. The four perpetrators shot at the vessel. None of the crew was reported injured as they took cover in the citadel. The armed robbers fired at the bridge windows and gained access into the accommodation. They ransacked all crew cabins and escaped with crew personal belongings. A navy boat arrived at the location to provide assistance. All crew was reported safe. As of Sep 19, the tanker was in the same position, where it has been anchored since Sep 4, upon its arrival from Las Palmas.
