Engine failure in Bosphorus

The 'Sti Elysees' suffered an engine failure on July 16, 2021, around noon in the Beykoz area, Istanbul, while transiting Bosphorus in northern direction. The tanker was en route from Le Havre to Novorossiysk. It dropped anchor. The crew managed to restart the engine. Escorted by the tugs 'Kurtarma 8' and 'Kurtarma 12' as well as the lifeboat 'KEGM 5' the tanker proceeded to the Kilyos anchorage where it moored in position 41° 16.74' N 028° 58.37' E. After the completion of repairs, the tanker continued on its way, accompanied by tugs.
