Passengers aboard the 'St. Faith' on Oct 19, 2021, were unable to disembark in Portsmouth following a mechanical failure of the port’s linkspan. The news of delays has been given to passengers aboard other Wightlink ferries operating on the route, with those at sea unable to dock at Portsmouth due to the 'St. Faith' being stuck in position. Engineers have been sent to fetch a spare part for the equipment. At 4.10 p.m. Wightlink advised passengers of delays of up to 60 minutes as engineers were working to rectify the fault.
