Stetind

The ramp to the "Stetind", which operates the Brattvåg–Dryna route, fell into the sea while it was docked in Brattvåg on the evening of Dec 12, 2025. The ferry was was damaged and had to be taken out of service. Photo: Åshild Fjørtoft On the morning of Dec 13, Torghatten announced that the incident also caused damage to the ferry itself. The vessel must therefore be taken out of service and sent to a shipyard in Aalesund for repairs. The ferry slipped off the bridge and the bridge went into the sea. A van was on its way aboard the ferry when the accident occurred, and the car was damaged too. There was minor damage to both the quay and the ferry, but enough to require repair. The shipping company sws working to get a reserve vessel in place. Until this was clarified, a passenger boat will take over the scheduled traffic. According to Torghatten, the timetables were the same as the scheduled ferry routes. The ferry 'Kvam' was inserted on the connection on the afternoon of Dec 13. The "Stetind" which replaced the ferry "Sigrid" which was under repair in Harstad, on the Fiskebøl-Melbu run, encountered technical problems, and now a third ferry, the "Bognes", has to take over the service. The "Stetind" suffered a damage to the bow propeller . The "Bognes" is expected on Oct 22, 2011, to start traffic between Melbu and Fiskebøl. The ferry comes straight from the shipyard in Tromsø. The ferry sercice Melbu-Fiskebøl had to be suspended after the "Stetind" suffered a broken bow propeller. The "Sigrid" which regularly serves traffic between Fiskebøl and Melbu, is being repaired in Harstad, and will not be back before 14 days on the earliest.
