Stena Line has announced that it will be reducing freight capacity on its Belfast – Liverpool (Birkenhead) service due to a decline in freight demandas a consequence of the Coronavirus crisis. The 'Stena Forecaster' will be removed from service resulting in a reduction of 10 trips per week.

STENA FORECASTER, recently sold by Stena RoRo to Stena Line, has been introduced on Stena Line’s Birkenhead (Liverpool)-Belfast route following the termination of her charter to Airbus. The 3,000-lanemetre freighter replaced sister ship STENA FORERUNNER which has returned to the North Sea.

On Sep 10, 2012, strong smoke development from a truck was remarked about midday aboard the "Stena Forecaster" which was in the Västra port in Hangö at that time. The crew managed to rectify the situation in short time. Hydraulic oil had spilled out of the truck and on the hot exhaust pipe on the truck. The surrounding area was quickly evacuated and the truck unloaded. When the rescue services arrived at the scene, the situation was already under control. The ship departed for Lübeck around 10 p.m.
