Cargo ship allided with buoy in Norrkoeping

On May 29, 2015, around noon, the "Conmar Island" allided with buoy and got stuck in port of Norrkoeping while maneuvering for berthing after the Arrival from Copenhagen at 10.30 a.m. during a strong winds and storm. The ship drifted towards the buoy and hit it with the stern. The propeller got entangled in the buoy anchor chain, and the "Conmar Island" lost propulsion. The vessel dropped anchor and waited for salvage after the storm calmed down. The ship was later towed to the quay and needed a repair of the propeller. The local authorities started an investigation of the accident and held a full inspection of the ship. On Mar 30 at 2.30 p.m. the "Conmar Island" left the port again, bound for Hamburg with an ETA of Mar 31, 3 a.m.

Power loss off Oslo

In the evening of July 9, 2014, the "Conmar Avenue", coming from the Søndre Sjursøykai Container Terminal in Oslo, suffered a pouwer outage in the Oslo Fjord. The lifeboat "Bergesen DY" was quickly on scene after the ship lost all engine power and electric power. The crew in vain attempted to restart the engines while the ship was adrift in the in the Drøbak Sound about 200 meters south of Aspond, a small island located in the middle of the narrowest part of the approach route to Oslo. The lifeboat was alerted at 10.55 p.m. and speeded with 40 knots towards the container ship. It was on scene within four minutes and started to push on the side of the ship to keep it from running aground. Also the lifeboat "Sundt" from Moss attended. Finally, the ship's crew could restore engine power and headed for Moss where it docked in the early morning of July 10.
