Grounding on the Paraná River
On the early morning of June 30, 2024, the 'Stadion II' ran aground sailing downbound on the River Paraná at river kilometer 391 in pos. 33° 09.02' S 060° 27.52' W. The ship, en route from San Lorenzo to Angola, loaded with 23000 metric tons of maize and about 5.000 metric tons of soy bean meal, got stuck outside the main canal on 9.86 meters draft. The tug 'Brutus' (MMSI: 701006670) went alongside, rendering assistance. The Argentine Coast Guard only allowed navigation through the area in daytime.
